Friend
I had a rooster once He perched on a metal railing on our front porch. He woke the neighborhood with his warning call that dawn was upon us. He would run to me when I got off the bus In the late afternoon. I would greet him, Pick him up and with both hands fling him into the sky At the apogee he would open his wings And glide back to earth I loved the power of partnership And I guess that he Loved to fly. One day he landed poorly and broke one of his legs It never healed correctly, withered. I had a one legged rooster once.
Mi Castillo
As safe as Can be When The world whirls Us about and Nature waits outside The door Crimson In tooth and claw No, I don't need solar panels!!
G'ral Pico
Calma del alma Omnipresent maté Fields of amber grain con bovine beneficence Ochre y scarlet sunsets de La Pampa Mi gente

Late Onset

The poem that became the song. Early 2026.

Fixation obsession desperation
Bibble babble leaping to the fingers
Bypassing tongue y brain

Irresistible unstoppable
hemorrhage
aortic geyser of consonants and vowels
Splashed across the page

Literary homicide writ
small across the cellular
constrained only by the screen size y life

From fog to high voltage arcing
medulla to cortex
Uninterrupted by corpus or awareness

Abruptly gone into the aether
from which they oppressed
Momentary clarity 'tween two selves

Chapbooks coming soon

Lore first encountered Sor Juana through Argentina’s education system, then introduced her to me—reciting and interpreting Hombres necios in bed. Her extraordinary formal mastery and her challenge to masculine hypocrisy still humble me. More about Sor Juana →
